Director of Performing Arts

Dello Thedford

Mr. Dello Thedford accepted the position as the head of the vocal music and performing arts  promote high achievement in the fine arts, and give Jennings' students the access to the best possible vocal music training available.

Teacher, arranger, noted composer, and conductor, Mr. Thedford currently serves as Minister of Music at Shalom Church City of Peace.  He previously served as Minister of Music at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Richmond Heights, Minister of Liturgy and Worship at St. James AME Church in St. Louis, and as Minister of Music at Mount Zion Baptist Church in East St. Louis.  In addition, Mr. Thedford served in the St. Louis Public School System as the Dean of Arts at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School.  He was also the conductor of the Black Chorus for the University of Missouri in St. Louis, vocal coach for the Theatre Program of Southern Illinois University-East St. Louis Campus, and Chairman for the Music Department at Roosevelt High School.

Mr. Thedford also served as music director for the St. Louis Black Repertory Theater productions of "The Wiz," "Trains is Comin'," and vocal arranger for "Ain't Misbehavin'".  Additionally, his musical scores and arrangements include "The Black Jesus Christ Superstar," and "Tamourines to Glory." Mr. Thedford has also been commissioned by the St. Louis Ballet Company to compose a contemporary jazz arrangement of "Alice in Wonderland."  He is currently music director for the Yourth Rally for the National Congress of Christian Education of the National Baptist Convention, and was music Chairman for the 1999 Billy Graham Crusade in St. Louis.
